BURLINGTON, Mass., November 25, 2019 — Edgewise Networks today announced that it was named a Boston winner of the NTT DATA Open Innovation Contest 10. As a result, Edgewise will present their automated microsegmentation platform to a panel of judges at the finale in Tokyo, Japan in January to determine the grand champion of the global contest. The Boston contest was held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Media Lab, and the winners were selected by a panel of judges from Lopez Research, Harvard Pilgrim and NTT DATA.
Edgewise’s platform enables enterprises to achieve a zero trust posture by automatically microsegmenting data center environments, both on-premises and in the cloud. It uses machine learning to rapidly map all network pathways and eliminate those that are not critical, reducing the attack surface. Then, with a single click, users can automatically microsegment their network in seconds and create a zero trust environment.
NTT DATA’s 10th annual international Open Innovation Contest invites startups around the globe to submit ideas for new technologies that can make the world a better place. The contest promotes innovation that helps tie back to the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. Winners get to collaborate with NTT DATA group companies within a wide variety of fields.
“Being selected as the Boston winner by NTT DATA is a strong validation of our innovative and unique approach to creating zero trust environments,” said Peter Smith, chief executive officer of Edgewise Networks. “We are grateful to NTT DATA for selecting us and we’re looking forward to the grand finale in Japan in January.”
