Boston, MA – Today, Internet of Things (IoT) security leader Pwnie Express announced the hiring of Matthew Williamson as Chief Technical Officer. Williamson brings more than 15 years of experience in computer security and data science to Pwnie. He will report directly to Pwnie Express CEO Todd DeSisto.

As CTO, Williamson will be responsible for the technical strategy for Pwnie Express’ flagship device threat detection security system, Pwn® Pulse.

Williamson has a track record of innovation in the fields of security, networking, and robotics. He was previously Chief Scientist at vArmour, where he led the development for their Policy Architect product. Williamson’s ideas advanced Rethink Robotics’ efforts to make low-cost robot arms. He also invented machine learning techniques for detecting and removing malware as the Principal Scientist at Sana Security. Williamson holds a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as 15 issued patents.
