Greg Dracon
Partner

Greg Dracon’s journey into venture capital began in the tech trenches, where he spent more than a decade honing his skills in a variety of roles within the high-tech industry.
From product distribution and digital signal processing application development to worldwide sales and business development management for the Texas Instruments Semiconductor Group, in the early part of his career Greg built a solid appreciation for the tech and business landscape.
Armed with that hands-on experience, Greg transitioned into venture investing as a Vice President at Core Capital Partners where he concentrated on sectors such as cybersecurity, digital media, technology-enabled services, and wireless applications.
In 2007, Greg began his dream job at .406 Ventures where he invests in companies building innovative solutions aimed at protecting digital assets, data and infrastructure from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Greg also serves on The Massachusetts Cybersecurity Strategy Council and The Dean’s Advisory Board for Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology.
Greg received an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance, and he graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State.

How I want entrepreneurs to perceive me
The ultimate startup sidekick—like Batman and Robin, but with more scar tissue.
Least favorite job
Sauce maker at a pizza shop — ever try to stir 20 gallons of red sauce?
Best job
This one. I’m not sure there is a job where you can work harder, laugh more, and be surrounded by people who make you question your own intelligence daily.
Biggest failure
Not making it on ‘The Amazing Race.’ Turns out, my amazing ability to grow a beard in 24 hours wasn’t enough for reality TV fame.
Favorite trip
Summiting Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro — because nothing says “relaxation” like gasping for air at 19,341 feet.
Grew up in
Upstate NY, where while doing my homework, I could see my breath indoors. Basically, I lived in a Victorian-themed refrigerator.
I can’t stop eating
Dessert – the bigger, the better!
Why I chose VC
Because I get to hang with the smartest people on the planet, nerd out over cutting-edge tech, and help startups crush it — all without having to climb any more mountains (thankfully).
