Marc Spooner became an Executive in Residence at .406 in 2023.
He advises health care service companies on issues related to strategy, value proposition refinement, and revenue management, often with a focus on value-based payment models. He also teaches strategy and health service delivery at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Boston University’s Questrom MBA Program.
Marc recently served as the Chief Operating Officer Point32Health, the organization formed by the merger of Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, which offers a diversified set of products (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) across a five-state region (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island).
Prior to the close of the merger in January of 2021, Marc worked with the Tufts Health Plan Board and CEO on the strategic rationale for the combination and then led the business due diligence and pre-merger integration planning. He held various roles at Tufts Health Plan including EVP of Commercial and Government Products (P&L responsibility for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid products), SVP of Health Care Services (responsibility for provider contracting, pharmacy, and clinical operations), and VP of Strategy.
Prior to Tufts Health Plan, Marc worked at Deloitte Consulting, where he served health care clients on strategy and operational engagements.
Marc received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Duke University.
