Indico and Coherent Announce Strategic Partnership to Modernize Underwriting Intake and Orchestration
Partnership unites data intelligence and logic automation to streamline commercial insurance operations.
Boston, MA, March 11th, 2026 Indico Data, the Intake and Orchestration Platform for insurance operations, and Coherent, a global leader in enterprise spreadsheet automation and intelligence , today announced a strategic partnership designed to help insurers move seamlessly from submission to decision.
Together, Indico and Coherent address two of the most persistent bottlenecks in underwriting: unstructured submission data trapped in broker emails, attachments, and PDFs, and business logic locked in offline spreadsheets and legacy tools.
“Most carriers have two big problems,” said Tom Wilde, CEO of Indico Data. “They can’t get clean data out of messy submission documents, and even when they do, they can’t apply their underwriting rules fast enough. This partnership solves both.”
Indico eliminates manual intake work by transforming submissions into structured, review-ready data using insurance-native document intelligence. Coherent complements this by converting underwriting logic, pricing models, appetite rules, and referral criteria, into live, auditable APIs without the need to code or rebuild models.
“Insurers have decades of underwriting and pricing expertise embedded in spreadsheets,” said Rich Barbarino, Chief Commercial Officer at Coherent. “The challenge has been connecting that trusted logic to real-time workflows. By partnering with Indico, we ensure that clean submission data flows directly into governed, production-ready underwriting logic, enabling faster, more consistent decisions without rebuilding what already works.”
Through this partnership, carriers can instantly route and triage new business submissions, apply existing underwriting and pricing logic without IT intervention, and accelerate quote turnaround times while maintaining full auditability. The result is a faster, more transparent, and more efficient underwriting process from submission to decision.
Unlike generic AI tools or point solutions, both platforms are purpose-built for insurance operations, with proven deployments across global P&C carriers.
“Ingestion is just the starting line,” added Wilde. “The future of underwriting is faster, logic-driven, and built on confident decisions, not just clean documents.”
