Cloud Data Encryption Provider Will Help Shape Cloud Security Market Policy and Adoption of IT Best Practices as Corporate Member

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire) - Vaultive, a provider of cloud data encryption solutions designed to maintain the control, security and compliance of data processed by cloud-based services, today announced that the company has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) as a corporate member.

The Cloud Security Alliance is a member-driven organization, chartered with promoting the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing. As a corporate member, Vaultive will support CSA research and work toward the delivery of a trusted cloud ecosystem through the contribution of domain expertise and in-depth technical knowledge gained through the development and deployment of its enterprise-grade cloud data encryption solutions.

Vaultive has a successful track record of collaboration in place with the Cloud Security Alliance, including multiple contributions to the CSA 3.0 cloud computing guidance working groups in the areas of email security and encryption. The company is an active member of the CSA NY Metro Chapter, focused on cloud security and compliance concerns related to the healthcare vertical, including managing control of HIPAA-related data residence on cloud-based services. Vaultive co-founder and CSO Ben Matzkel presented at the SecureCloud Cloud 2012 event in Frankfurt, Germany hosted and organized by the CSA, the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), CASED/Fraunhofer SIT and ISACA, on the technical challenges of building commercially viable encryption for cloud applications.

"Vaultive has been a valuable ally to the Cloud Security Alliance and we're pleased to welcome the company as an official corporate member," said Jim Reavis, co-founder and executive director of the Cloud Security Alliance. "The successful evolution of the cloud security industry hinges on the leadership of visionary companies like Vaultive. We look forward to our continued collaboration on defining cloud security IT best practices, and ultimately achieving CSA's goal of fundamentally improving cloud computing security as a whole."

Vaultive's enterprise-grade cloud data encryption solutions enable customers to encrypt data-at-rest, data-in-transit and data-in-use in the cloud in a format that can be searched, sorted and indexed, while enterprise IT retains control of the encryption keys. This addresses the four principal business challenges that organizations face when migrating data to the cloud: data security, regulatory compliance, unauthorized data disclosure and access, and international privacy/data residency regulations.

"Smart encryption technology is a significant part of the future of the cloud security industry and we look forward to working with the Cloud Security Alliance as a corporate Member to help organizations worldwide overcome the barriers to cloud adoption through the establishment of new policies that reduce -- and even eliminate -- common security concerns," said Elad Yoran, CEO, Vaultive. "We are excited to offer our knowledge and expertise to help further the CSA's mission of promoting best practices for securing cloud environments."
