BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 14, 2016) - Pwnie Express, the leading provider of device threat detection for wired, wireless and IoT devices, today announced the appointment of Todd DeSisto to its Board of Directors. DeSisto, former CEO of Axeda Corp., acquired by PTC, brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience in venture-backed technology companies, having successfully led exits worth a combined $1.5 billion. An early Internet of Things (IoT) innovator, Todd was instrumental in building Axeda into the industry leader in the management of the connected products and machines of IoT networks.

"We are tremendously excited to have Todd join our Board," said Paul Paget, CEO at Pwnie Express. "Todd is an IoT industry veteran and understands this huge market shift, the players, and partnerships from a variety of angles. We look forward to harnessing Todd's expertise across all aspects of our business."

During DeSisto's tenure as CEO, Axeda became a recognized leader in the IoT space, including being named one of the 12 most powerful IoT companies by Network World, with the likes of Amazon, Cisco and Google.

"I have seen firsthand how IoT challenges the traditional way companies approach information technology and in particular information security," said Todd DeSisto. "Pwnie Express is at the forefront of helping companies adopt the tremendous benefits of IoT, while actually increasing security at the same time. I am thrilled to be joining the Pwnie team and to help them continue their outstanding success and growth."

DeSisto started his career as an early pioneer in the wireless space at Atlantic Cellular Co. and recently was a partner with Aloha Partners, one of the largest independent holders of wireless spectrum licenses prior to its sale to AT&T. He is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.
